CWA Post-Gazette Journalists Win Millions in Back Pay and Benefits

On Monday, the United States Supreme Court dealt the final blow to the former owners of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (PG)—BCI and the Block family—in their efforts to avoid accountability. After their three-year strike, current and former workers at PG, represented by the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh (TNG-CWA Local 38061), are set to be paid millions of dollars for wages and benefits owed now that the company has exhausted its appeals.

To support former strikers—many of whom were purged from the staff by new PG ownership—please subscribe and join at any level the Pittsburgh Progress, the co-operative news outlet started by our hardened union siblings. They are committed to becoming CWA members and creating worker-centered journalism.
