Two Long-time Local 1014 Officers Retire
Two long-time officers of Local 1014 recently retired from their position with the union as well as their position with their employer.
On October 1, Local 1014 Recording Secretary Valerie Castagna retired after 30 plus years in the Camden County Health & Human Services Department. She replaced long-serving Recording Secretary Donna Davis in 2008 and previously served on the Local 1014 Board of Trustees for close to twenty years. Valerie participated in contract negotiations for the County Large Unit on a number of occasions. She chaired the Local 1014 Scholarship, Long Term Planning and Bylaws Committees for years and oversaw union elections serving on the Election Committee many times. While retiring from Camden County and Local 1014, she is still working for Gloucester Catholic H.S. where she serves in the administration's office.
Just one month later, Corresponding Secretary Eunice Robinson retired from her position with Local 1014 as well as her position at the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center. Robinson held the union officer's position since 2001. She was also a shop steward at the Detention Center. Eunice was Chair of the Local 1014 Activities and Health & Welfare Committees and oversaw membership reports. She participated in contract negotiations for the County Large Unit on repeated occasions. She worked for Camden County for 31 years.
Congratulations and thanks to both retirees!
